What We've Built Together

'What We've Built Together' is a digital work that assembles fragments of lived moments into a single shared scene. Images taken from a Blender workspace form a constructed dinner table where family and friends sit together, drawn from photographs captured across different homes, cities, and times. In the original photographs, these gestures of eating, sitting, and gathering happened separately at different tables, in different rooms, and within different chapters of life. Here they are brought into proximity. The result is a layered moment where distance collapses and multiple versions of home exist at once.

At the center of the piece is the familiar ritual of gathering. Food is laid out, bodies sit close together, and the act of prayer takes place before eating. For my extended family these gestures mark the beginning of togetherness. By recomposing them digitally, the work holds many memories of that ritual at the same time. Each figure carries the context of where they were originally photographed, yet within the composition they share a common table.
